Weekend digest #3 · Pittsburgh · Oct 9–11
This weekend in PGH coffee — Oct 9–11
A Friday coffee stop and a Sunday submission deadline, plus dates to save for later this month.
This weekend
- Urban Trail Coffee — its dated weekly schedule lists an Outdoor Cafe at 8200 Perry Highway on Friday Oct 9. Hours differ between its Instagram schedule and website, so check with the shop’s current schedule before heading out. Official weekly schedule; website schedule.
- Virtual Latte Art Throwdown — submissions are due Sunday Oct 11. Public voting runs Oct 16–23; the winner announcement date remains unconfirmed because the organizer’s event page and linked 2026 form disagree. Official rules and submission form; organizer’s event page.
Later this month
- Pittsburgh Coffee Week — the official homepage lists Oct 18–24, 2026. These dates fall after this weekend. Coffee Week homepage.
- Commonplace Coffee — Open, Manage, Grow: A Coffeehouse Workshop is Saturday Oct 24, 1–8pm, at its headquarters and roastery, 1004 Washington Boulevard. The agenda includes a 2–4pm history session and cupping with Osito, guided by Head of Coffee Vikki Harris. This is a later-month event, not an Oct 9–11 stop. Official workshop details and registration.
